A Tale for 3 Counties: Tale for Three Counties is an area-wide book discussion presented by the 20 public libraries of Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties and Genesee Community College in western New York State. Visit the Tale for 3 Counties Website to learn more... Garth Stein, author of The Art of Racing in the Rain, visited Lee-Whedon on Friday, March 12, 2010. Visit our Photo Album for pictures of this event.
Jennifer Donnelly was the 4th author to visit the library with the Tales program on March 24, 2006. She is the author of A Northern Light, A Gathering Light and The Winter Rose, among many others.
Visit the website of Paul Gaus Paul Gaus, author of Separate from the World, visited our library on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.
Lawyer-turned-author Julia Spencer-Fleming visited Lee-Whedon on March 11, 2005 through the Tales program. She is the author of In the Bleak Midwinter, Out of the Deep I Cry, and A Fountain Filled with Blood, among others.

Thomas Mullen was the Tales author who visited our library on Friday, March 14, 2008. He is the author of The Last Town on Earth.
Howard Frank Mosher was Tale for 3 Counties 2nd author to visit our library on March 24, 2004. Mosher is the author of Northern Borders, A Stranger in the Kingdom and The True Account.
The author to visit through the Tales program on March 9, 2007, was author Mark Spragg. He wrote An Unfinished Life, Where Rivers Change Direction, and The Fruit of Stone.
The first author to visit Lee-Whedon through The Tales for 3 Counties Program was Leif Enger on March 28, 2003. He is the author of Peace Like a River and So Brave, Young and Handsome, among others.

Book Discussion Group: Held on the first Monday of every month at 1:00 p.m. in the Quiet Room. Click on the underlined link to view past book club selections as well as future selections.

Friends of the Library
: Friends of the Library is a nonprofit group, that through membership dues, fund raising activities, and service projects, provides necessary supplemental support that is not possible with tax dollars alone. Examples of their efforts are the sale of book bags and of the USB drives. (below)

The Friends also have an annual book sale in August, which has become quite popular. In addition to the annual sale, a new selection of books are put out every Monday to sell. Finally Fridays: Finally Fridays, held on select Fridays throughout the Winter months, brings talented musical groups from Western New York to our library, entertaining people of all ages. These programs, cosponsored by GO-ART! and Friends of the Library, are free to the public. The 2010 programming schedule for our ninth annual event is complete. Computer Classes These classes are offered periodically in the Quiet Room. They are hands-on classes using new laptops purchased through the Gates Foundation Grant. Watch the papers for the next class time.
